Red Faction Armageddon

Here are a few pages from a book done for THQ. It's a prequel to their new game and the comic was an exclusive giveaway at San Diego Comic Con 2010.

Human Target

This is my first ever work for Wildstorm, I'm still reasonably proud of it. The malaise that comes with time and looking at older work hasn't set in yet but then it has only been a few months ;)

Attack of the xenophobic mob.

This is a 4 page story I worked on with my writer friend Kathryn White. It's for an anthology called Ctrl.Alt.Shift coming out with Comica 09 in the UK.

From their site

<< 'A selection of the world’s most compelling graphic novelists and comic artists are to collaborate with experimental youth initiative Ctrl.Alt.Shift, to create a limited edition comic book Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption which aims to highlight corruption as both the cause of poverty and a barrier to overcoming it. Comprising original work from leading comic artists, satirists and creative figures from around the world including USA, South Africa, India, Sweden, Serbia and the UK, Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption will engage and challenge the issues of social injustice in a bid to politicise a new generation of activists through the medium of popular comic culture.'>>

I'm pretty sure they don't mean me when they talk about compelling artists but it's really amazing to be involved.

Brave and the Bold

This is a commission piece for a friend of mine that works at my LCS. All he asked for was Batman and Green Lantern and that's what he got.

Tried a little something different here with the process, drew it on the mac and the printed it out light blue, then inked it.

The Spirit

Always loved Will Eisner's work, his books on sequential storytelling really opened my eyes to all the possibilities this amazing medium has. This is just a little homage to his most famous character. Silly picture really, but fun to do.

Paragons #4 pages

Paragons was an amazing project to work on. I was approached by a company that was tasked with doing a comic for Alexander Forbes, a financial institution that felt their employees needed to be reminded of the core values of the company. What better way to layout values on a page than in a super hero book, so that's what we pitched. Each issue featured a different hero from our PARAGONS super team that embodied that issues values. Sometimes the message got heavy handed, but so what, I got to draw comics AND get paid. Crazy for someone living in South Africa

Here are some of the interior pages from that issue. Pencilled and inked digitally.

Paragons #2 cover

I didn't get to draw the second issue of Paragons, my friend Jason Baroody got roped into that because of time constraints, but seeing as I was organising the whole thing I just gave myself the cover to draw. The issue featured a lava monster attacking Johannesburg and a hero who had to step up and save the day through innovation and quick thinking.

Nixon's Pals

Fellow Ten Ton Studios member and friend Chris Burnham asked me to do a pin up for his OGN 'Nixon's Pals'. I was happy to comply. This was the result. 'Nixon's Pals' was written by Joe Casey and published by Images comics. It's an awesome book and I can highly recommend it, Chris did some of the craziest character designs I've ever seen in that book.

B vs J

This was just a little pin up I did for myself. Who hasn't always loved Batman and the Joker? Not published.
